"Biological classification may seem like an esoteric problem better left to librarians than field researchers"
Hey, I have training in both areas - pick me! Pick me!
"I'm struck by the narcissism and banality of so many personal blogs." - Blaise Cronin, Professor and Dean, Information Science, Indiana University. Is corn the most banal thing possible? This sounds like a job for the Esoteric Problem Brigade!
I just can't get that excited about taxonomy. My mind starts to break down around the edges trying to come up with a decent definition of "species". I do salute Linnaeus for giving us all an excuse to make up funny pseudo-Latin names for things. That's worthwhile. :-)
